A Number Is Not a Test
Almost every berberine product on the market states a purity percentage somewhere on its label. Very few publish the test that produced that number. The gap between 'claimed purity' and 'verified purity' is exactly where quality varies most in the supplement industry, and understanding what HPLC actually measures is the difference between trusting a label and trusting a result.
What HPLC Actually Is
High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) is an analytical chemistry technique that physically separates the individual chemical compounds in a sample, then measures how much of each is present.
